Renovation of the plumbing system in a single-family home in the historic district

Technological upgrades and energy-efficient comfort for a historic urban residence.

Location: Palermo - Italy
Building type: Single-family townhouse in historical center
Climate zone: Warm, B (IT)
System: Air-to-water heat pumps combined with fan coil terminals

The project involved the HVAC renovation of a single-family residence located in the historical center of Palermo, aimed at enhancing indoor comfort and energy efficiency through the adoption of a heat pump system.

The main requirement was to increase the energy efficiency of the home by replacing the existing HVAC system, while providing a compact solution suited to a historic setting where architectural constraints and tight spaces demand flexible, low-impact solutions.
It was also essential to ensure high living comfort and adaptability to the different layouts of the interior spaces.

The building was upgraded through the installation of a Sherpa Monobloc air-to-water heat pump, capable of providing high energy efficiency and complete management of the residence's heating and cooling system.
Thermal comfort distribution across the spaces is provided by 8 Bi2 Air fan coils, installed in both built-in and console versions to adapt to the various architectural and functional needs of the interior spaces.
