Heat Recovery Ventilation: New Sitali CX Ducted Units

Olimpia Splendid expands its HRV range, introducing high-efficiency centralised systems that complete the full-electric system offering for the comfort of new-generation buildings

Brescia, March 2023
Olimpia Splendid's home comfort system solution is increasingly comprehensive. Next to hydronic systems (heat pumps and fancoils) for heating, cooling and full electric DHW production, also units for air exchange with heat recovery now have a diversified range of solutions.

"Comfort in an efficient home is the compass that has always guided our research and development work" - explains Francesco Saccone, R&D Manager at Olimpia Splendid - "And to achieve this result, we have expanded our plant proposal, to manage not only the temperature, but also the purity of the air, always and only with technologies capable of increasing the efficiency of the building. Heat recovery ventilation is in fact the ideal solution for improving indoor air quality and energy performance at the same time".

The range of point-source HRV units, already available in the Olimpia Splendid catalogue, has thus been enriched with 8 new ducted references, with air flow rates varying from 120 to 500 m3/h and different installation possibilities (vertical to wall and horizontal to ceiling/ceiling), capable of adapting to the needs of new generation buildings.

To guarantee an effectivechange of air, limiting the activation of the heating and cooling system, the new Sitali CX range stands out for the presence of a cross-flow heat exchanger and integrated physical bypass. The former makes it possible, in winter, to transfer heat from the air extracted from the interior to the fresh air supplied from outside. The second ensures, in summer, the natural cooling of indoor environments during the night hours. Consistent with the aim of energy efficiency, the brushless EC motors themselves are also characterised by high efficiency and reduced power consumption (up to energy class A+).

Great attention, of course, is also paid to room comfort, in terms of both acoustics and air purity. The low sound emission of the new centralised HRV units (sound pressure reduced to 18 dB(A) at 3m in free field) is ensured by the structure made of expanded polypropylene coupled with galvanised steel external panels and by the use of highly silent centrifugal type fans with reversed blades, coupled directly and dynamically balanced to the motor.

The effective filtration of polluting particles in the air is achieved by means of G4 type filters (ISO Coarse 60%) at the inlet, to which F7 type filters (ISO ePM1 60%) can be added on request, the latter being standard for the larger capacity models. Maximum usability, finally, also in terms of controls: the units are equipped with automatic or manual panels and are compatible with the building management system SiOS Control by Olimpia Splendid.
