Gas used in our air conditioners

The air conditioners currently  on the market can contain two different types of gas: R407C and R410A. The latter type is ecological because it contains no atoms of chlorine and therefore does not damage the ozone layer, it is non toxic, non flammable and in terms of energy efficiency it achieves maximum output. It is the new gas of choice, i.e. the one that still offers the best performance without effects on the ozone layer. Before leaving the factory air conditioners are charged with gas all along the length of standard pipes (as indicated in the instructions, which vary for each company).  The gas is charged into the outdoor unit while the pipes of the indoor unit are usually filled with nitrogen to keep out dirt and humidity.
